What is the Difference between the Virtual Entity Parameters ‘Add Lines’, ‘Remove Lines’, ‘Remove Values’?

A Virtual Entity has been created and configured using the Virtual Entity Editor.

The virtual entity is being used in the form.

While adding the virtual entity to a form in the editor, the following parameters ‘Add Lines’, ‘Remove Lines’, ‘Remove Values’ are shown.

Answer

The root of this functionality come from Data Integration.

In Data Integration wizard, when you select an Object Group in output mappings, there are three options for the data to be put into the Object Group:

  • Add Lines – New Data will be appended to the Object Group
  • Replace Lines – Existing lines will be removed and new data will be appended.
  • Replace Values – Existing lines will be overwritten. Only the columns mapped will receive new values others will hold existing data.

Similarly, when an Entity is being mapped to controls inside an Object Group or there is an Object Group in the Entity View, you can select one of above.
