How Can We Help?

Obtaining XMPro Version Details

< Back

It is important to know how to obtain the exact version number of an XMPro installation, for a number of reasons:

  • Documentation and known issues always relate to a specific XMPro version.
  • XMPro Connectors are always built for a specific version of XMPro – in order for them to operate correctly you must download and install the correct Connector version

Version check using the XMDesigner

The easiest way to verify your XMPro site’s version number is to do so via the XMDesigner:

  1. Using the XMDesigner, sign in to the site you wish to check
  1. Once signed in, click File -> Help -> About

Version1

  1. Select the “Server” tab
  1. The resulting list will display all assemblies loaded into your XMWorkspace site, with version numbers

Version2

  1. Where different version numbers are shown, use the version of XMWorkspace.dll to determine the version of your XMPro website.

Manual Version Check

You can also see your XMPro version without using the XMDesigner. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. In Windows Explorer, browse to your XMPro Website.
  1. Open the bin directory.
  1. Find the file XMWorkspace.dll.
  1. Right-click the file, and select Properties.
  1. Click the Details tab.
  1. Product Version will be the version of your XMPro site.

XMPro before v6.5

Earlier versions of XMPro did not always publish service pack or minor release versions in the released assemblies.

All versions of – for example – XMPro v6.1 will show the product version as 6.1.0.0, no matter the service pack which has been installed.

In this situation you will need to follow the “Manual Version Check” steps outlined above. Once you have the “Details” tab open, take note of the “Date Modified” value.

You will need to cross-check this value against the docs.xmpro.com website, which publishes the build date on its product download page.

As an example, you can see all product build dates for XMPro v6.1 on this page.
