How do I debug an error that occurs while upgrading a site?

Solution:

If you encounter an error when running the Site Manager.exe, check the Windows Event Viewer. Sometimes the error details are captured in the Windows Event Viewer to give more clues to sort the issue out.

For example, if you get an error like one below:

In the Windows Event Viewer, see if there are more error details that were caught:

You can investigate further within the file where the issue had first originated in.

Often the issue is to do with a SQL error being thrown as the Site Manager attempted to modify the XMPro database.
