Multiple-Select Browse Page Functionality in v6.6

How Can We Help?

< Back

Background

The Multiple-Select Browse Page functionality can be used with older versions of XMPro, but it requires a consultant to install and configure the functionality first. It is not part of the installation.

In version 6.6, this is now built-in functionality.

Configuration

This section demonstrates how to configure and use the Multi-Select Browse Page functionality available in version 6.6.

     Configuration:

  • Create an Object Group
    • Create a browse page and map it to the object group
    • Create the rest of the controls that you would use to map the output of the browse page to and map them to the Object Group using the existing functionality of the Browse Page Configuration Window.
  • Navigate to the Object Group configuration window and expand the Options group. Set ‘Allow Multi Browse Page’ property to True as shown below.

  • Navigate to the 6.6 site.config file. Find the following key and set the value to False. <add key=”DisableMultiBrowsePage” value=”False” /> The value of the setting must be set to False for the Multi Browse Page functionality to work. When the site is first installed, the default value is True, i.e. Multi Browse Page functionality is disabled site wide.
  • Once the key values are set, a browse icon will appear next to the plus and minus buttons of the object group as shown in the next point.

     How to use the functionality

  • By clicking the browse icon on the object group header, a browse page window with Multi Select options will appear.

  • Select the rows required and click the Select button to confirm the selection

  • A row will be added to the Object Group for each of the selected items in the Browse Page.  The control/field mapping configuration for the Browse Page will be used to populate the Object Group control values with the corresponding field value from the Browse Page.

For a more detailed discussion and example on how to configure and use the Multiple-Select functionality, please refer to following knowledge base article: : http://kb.xmpro.com/multiple-select-functionality/.

Deleting a line from the Object Group works the same.
If there are multiple browse pages configured within an Object Group, the Multi-Select functionality will only be available for the first Browse Page in the Object Group.
