Password resets via the XMWorkspace

Issue

When attempting to reset a user’s password through the XMWorkspace, the following errors may appear:

  1. The parameter ‘address’ cannot be an empty string.  Parameter name: address
  2. The SMTP host was not specified.
  3. The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.57 SMTP; Client was not authenticated to send anonymous mail during MAIL FROM

Resolution

Access the site via the XMDesigner then to resolve:

For item 1:

click Workspace under the General section, add the email address to the email account in the Security to the ServerMailAddress setting

For item 2:

click Workspace under the General section, add the SmtpServer of the email account to the SmtpServer setting

For Item 3:

navigate to the Custom Email Settings section under the Settings tab and click Security.  Now add the User Name & Password of the email account you wish to use to send the new password

The password can now be reset:
