File Attachment Controls Stop Responding in Chrome

< Back

Issue

In XMWorkspace versions prior to v6.5, such as v6.0.5 and v6.1.0, File Attachment controls may stop responding when using recent versions of the Chrome browser. The behavior of the issue is intermittent and difficult to isolate but is dependent (to some degree) on the layout of the form and where the File Attachment is positioned within the form. Larger forms with more controls exhibit the behavior more frequently than smaller forms, but the issue affects File Attachment controls regardless of whether they are in an object group or not.

The issue causes the File Attachment control to stop responding, i.e. clicking the ‘Browse’ button doesn’t have any effect. It is possible for some File Attachment controls on the form to be working correctly while others are not, but once the user clicks on a File Attachment control that is not working, all File Attachment controls on the form stop working.

Resolution

Currently, the resolution of this issue is to use a different browser. Both Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge do not currently exhibit the same behavior.
