Error Installing Microsoft Shared Management Objects 2014 During XMPro Subscription Manager Installation

If you’ve received the below error message when installing the Subscription Manager, it is because the Microsoft Shared Management Objects 2014 requires that Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2014 is already installed. In this case, the dependencies are being installed out of order.

The solution is to manually execute the setup for Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2014 and then run the Subscription Manager installer again.

The installation files for Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2014 can be found in the temporary folder referenced in the error message (e.g. C:\Users\skolb\AppData\Local\Temp\VSD719.tmp) or can be downloaded from Microsoft as part of the Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Feature Pack.
