General Information

Before we begin to look at the some of the functions within the system, it is important to understand the purpose of XMPro Subscription Manager. XMPro Subscription Manager is a system that has been introduced to help manage the subscriptions and rights companies and users hold within XMPro applications.

XMPro Subscription Manager is composed of several parts, including Product Management, Company Management, and Subscription and Access Management. Each of these areas have been broken up into separate guides.

Product Management

Each of the products/ applications that are supported by XMPro Subscription Manager needs to be registered in XMPro Subscription Manager by an XMPro Administrator. If an application is listed in the system, all of the information that describes it needs to be added with it. Information of a product can include the URL a user will need to navigate to the product, a list of rights a user can have on it, etc. Product keys for each product are also created within XMPro Subscription Manager.

Company Management

Users that register to use XMPro are grouped by company; thus, a company needs to be registered in XMPro Subscription Manager and then multiple users can sign up as part of that company.

Subscription Access Management

Subscriptions to applications need to be given to a company and one of its administrators first. Users in that company can then request subscriptions to the products their company has subscription access for. The first and main subscription any user or company should hold is a subscription to XMPro. Without it, they will not be allowed to use XMPro Subscription Manager or any of the products supported by it.

In the next section, we will discuss how to get a subscription to XMPro by registering for XMPro Subscription Manager.
