“I have just installed XMPro IOT V2 and my new stream will not start”

How Can We Help?

< Back

Issue

The most likely cause for a stream being unable to start after installing a clean instance of IOT and Stream Server on a machine is that the Stream Server service is not running. If the Stream Server service is not running, the stream that the user attempts to start will not go to an error state – it will simply show a bar at the bottom that states “Starting stream” before taking the bar away.

Resolution

Follow the steps below to start a stream without encountering any issues.

Note: Please note that if Automatic was chosen as the Startup Type during the installation process, the user will possibly still have to start the service manually for the first time after installation.

  • Go to Windows Services and scroll to the newly installed Stream Server service

  • Right-click on the service
  • Choose “Start” from the menu

  • Open IOT and try running the newly created stream again
